Running 4 plants with top-mounted LED bars and a supplemental panel underneath the canopy firing upward at 50% duty cycle. The underlighting drives bud development on the lower sites that would normally get shaded out. The difference in lower bud density compared to my previous runs without it is night and day.

I'm a home grower in Minnesota (indoor tent, LED bars + underlighting) and I've been thinking about what's missing in the grow app space. We've got communities like this one where experienced growers share incredible knowledge for free — but no way for those experts to actually get paid for it. No objective way to measure how your grow stacks up. No competitions with real stakes. And basic tools like light meters, VPD calculators, and nutrient mixers scattered across five different apps.
So I'm working on something called CannaRank. The idea:
\- \*\*AI Grow Scoring\*\* — upload a photo, get scored 0-10 across 5 categories, plus a community score from fellow growers
\- \*\*Leaderboards & Competitions\*\* — monthly contests, strain showdowns, regional rankings, real prizes and bragging rights
\- \*\*Expert Marketplace\*\* — experienced growers set their own rates for 1-on-1 consultations (troubleshooting, grow reviews, strain advice). Think Uber, but for grow expertise. Your grow score is your resume.
\- \*\*Built-in Tools\*\* — light meter/DLI calculator, VPD calculator, nutrient mixing calculator, AI plant doctor that diagnoses problems from a photo
