Streaming apps suddenly blocking both VPN and proxy?

I’ve been using a VPN for streaming for a while and it used to work fine with most platforms. Recently though, one of the services I use started detecting it and wouldn’t play anything. So I switched to a proxy setup instead, and that worked for a bit but now that’s getting blocked too. Happens on both my smart TV and laptop.

Not sure if they updated their detection or if I’m doing something wrong, but it feels like everything gets flagged now. Anyone else dealing with this lately or found a workaround?

using SSH while connected to a VPN: any issues?

I recently set up SSH between a couple of my home machines and it’s been working great so far. Mostly using it to move files around and manage things remotely. One thing I’m unsure about though I usually have a VPN running in the background, and I’m not sure if that affects SSH connections in any way. Everything seems to work, but I’m wondering if there are any hidden downsides or risks.

For example, does it impact speed, routing, or security depending on the VPN setup? And does it matter if it’s a paid vs free service? Just getting back into this kind of setup after a long time, so trying to make sure I’m not overlooking something obvious.

one feature is the main reason I kept my VPN after renewal

I get why people complain about renewal prices, but for me one specific feature made it worth sticking around. At one point I considered switching, but I realized I was using that feature way more than I expected. It basically lets me access my home devices remotely and move files around without dealing with complicated setups.

I also use it for things like connecting between devices securely without exposing anything publicly, which saves me from messing with ports and all that. I’m not really someone who likes switching services once something works, so even if there are cheaper options, I’d rather keep what I’m used to.

So yeah, for me the renewal didn’t feel as bad once I thought about how much I actually use that feature.

Luna VPN reviews: Is it legit or scam?

I stumbled upon Luna VPN because it's completely free and offers unlimited usage, which sounds amazing. But I've been hearing some whispers online about it being owned by a mobile analytics company, Sensor Tower, and that it might be harvesting user data for market research. It feels a bit too good to be true, and I'm starting to get suspicious about why a company would offer such a service for free without any obvious catch. I need something safe for public wifi and streaming, but I don't want to install something sketchy. I'm trying to figure out if Luna VPN is genuinely safe and private, or if it's just another free VPN that's secretly selling my information. Has anyone here used Luna VPN and can confirm if these data harvesting rumors are true? I'd appreciate any honest feedback.
