New Compost

I decided to start a composting corner in my yard. I placed broken sticks of varying sizes on the bottom, added a layer of browns, some greens, then my bucket of oozy fruit rinds, plant trimmings on that, followed by a layer of grass clippings and leaves from my mower bag. Any advice on further steps? I've jokingly started this pile, to pee on it, and find out what the fuss is...but i also eat alot of fruit during the summer, watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, pineapple, so I have a lot of rinds that my One W0rm Bin can't take.

OKAY, I started a large container outdoors, just old depleted soil from last season. I've thrown all kinds of food scraps into it over the winter. I never found any worms as I mixed it by hand. I bought some red wrigglers, and brown earthworms and added them into my container. My question, should I buy an real outdoor Vermi Bin and transfer my outdoor container into that?? I just want to know before spending money on one, but I feel like I've created a nice environment for my wormies, for the time being.

I have a large container outside, I dump all my old soil in here as I repot and change plants. (Don't get hung up on that) I've recently added a healthy amount of worms to this container. Is it healthy to add pureed veggie cuttings and egg shells into the soil? They seemed to really get active after the first time I added some. I keep the container outdoors, in the shade all day. [The pic is two days after I added Veggie Puree.]
