Daryl Morey was a B/B+ GM

The McCain trade was awful. I don't think anyone disagrees with that. And while we all know it was partially made because Josh Harris is a cheap bastard who doesn't want to pay luxury tax, Morey is still at fault. Signing PG to a max deal, also bad. Hopefully our new GM is able to trade him without butchering our draft capita.

With those two obvious blemishes out of the way...what the hell is everyone on about acting like Morey was some atrocious GM?

He's been fantastic in the draft: Maxey, VJ, McCain, Isaiah Joe. Dude knows how to draft good players.

When Morey arrived we were in purgatory from Elton Brand and Bryan long-collars being awful at their jobs. He got rid of Al Horford and Josh Richardson, then didn't give into pressure from Ben Simmons and swapped him for James Harden. He also completely restocked the 76ers draft capital, we were lacking when he arrived and now that he's gone we have most of our own picks + a fantastic Clippers 2028 FRP and a swap with the Lakers in 2029.

Then he got rid of Harden for good pieces. Being angry about McCain seems to have deluded a bunch of people into taking Harden's side in that situation despite all evidence being in Morey's favor. JH is a diva who keeps forcing his way off of teams, Cleveland will see it again in 2 years I'm sure.

Has Morey been perfect? No. Are there 10 better GMs out there right now? Also probably no. I'm not even necessarily mad we fired him, this team needs change, but acting like Morey was awful his entire tenure here is moronic. The team is in a better position now than it was when he arrived.

Olivia Miles and the Lynx

Did MN lose anyone important this offseason? Or did they just take their contending team and add the best rookie guard in the class for nothing 😂
