Hey there!

Just popping in to congratulate everyone on making it through another semester! We really do see you, the work you put in, and we're proud to serve such an incredible community.

A few housekeeping things your library friends want you to be aware of:

🎓 To Our Graduating Aggies who are NOT Returning:

First, congrats. 💙 We're going to miss seeing you in our spaces but we're so excited for your next chapter. If you are not returning to USU, we want you to know that, as Alumni, you'll still have access to our libraries, albeit limited to our physical locations.

Check out our online guide for more info.

🏫 For Everyone Coming Back in the Fall:

We hope you have an amazing summer! If you want to knock out some summer reading, be sure to check out the Libby app where you can access thousands of free audiobooks and e-books just by logging in with your A-number. Every month, we have a Libby book of the month that you can access, no wait times or holds. For example, starting May 1st, you can access Yellowface by R.F. Kuang in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. We've also put together a curated reading list of diverse books tied to America 250!

Visit our Libby Guide for help getting set up with Libby.

🛠️ Help Us Plan Fall Workshops:

Finally, we want to offer workshops you want to attend! Take this short survey and tell us which workshops we should put on this fall.

That's all for now! As usual, we're here for research consultations, to connect you with resources, or otherwise just help! 🙂 Be sure to check in with library.usu.edu to stay up to date with our calendar!

Have a great summer! 🎉

Hey Aggies! We know this part of the semester can be stressful, so we want to make you aware of a few relaxing and fun events that are going on in the Merrill-Cazier Library to help you unwind this week. Feel free to drop-in to as many of these events as you'd like, no registration required!

Wednesday, April 22

  • Yellowstone Silent Films from the Archives — Room 101, two screenings: 11 AM–12 PM and 2–3 PM. We're screening 1930s silent film reels of Yellowstone shot by Park Ranger Marion Crowell. Digital Archivist Sarah Berry will be on hand to share context about the films.
  • Take a Break at the Library — Room 122, 2–3 PM. Coloring and snacks

Thursday, April 23

  • Unplug & Unwind — Room 122, 1–4 PM. Rest your eyes from screen time with LEGOs, puzzles, friendship bracelets, crosswords, sudoku, and campus partners from ABLE Peer Coaches and USU CARE on-site. Chat with each partner for a chance to win a prize.
  • Logan's Lost College exhibit opening reception — Library Atrium, 1:30–2:30 PM. Logan's Lost College: Remembering Brigham Young College 100 Years Later opens this day. The exhibit marks the 100th anniversary of BYC's closure and draws on Special Collections materials (photos, correspondence, institutional records) to tell the story of Logan's other university (1877–1926). The exhibit runs through June 12 and is free and open to the public. | More info

Friday, April 24

  • Take a Break at the Library — Room 122, 2–3 PM. Close out the week with one more round of coloring and snacks.
