Children across Perth are living on the streets with parents who can’t afford or access private rentals—and who have been stuck on public housing wait lists for years.
My job takes me to council facilities overnight, where I regularly encounter people sleeping rough—often in cars. Many are single parents with children who can’t afford or access private rentals and have been waiting years for public housing. I also see many seniors who appear old enough to be on pensions.
I know some people are aware of this, but this is for those who aren’t—this is happening right now.
