1,226 hours played. That’s the milestone I just hit in my own game! 😲
Was half of that hard work? Absolutely. Countless late nights testing updates, fixing bizarre bugs, and validating the game’s balance.
But the other half is the reason I decided to become a developer.
I didn’t just create a product to sell on Steam. I created the game I wanted to play—one that no one had made yet.
Kinguin was born from my desire to have a simulation game (as a streamer) that keeps me company in the background without draining my attention from real work. I made the game for myself. The result? I discovered that thousands of people around the world wanted exactly the same experience.
Seeing your idea come to life is amazing. But opening Steam, clicking “Play” on your own game, and genuinely enjoying it—forgetting that you were the one who programmed it… that’s a feeling I recommend to every developer.
If you like idle games and want something to keep you company while you do other things, Kinguin is on Steam (and currently on sale):
What’s a game or app that made you think, “I wish I had created this”?
