I might give up on Plex. After trying to trouble shoot my setup, I still experieince stuttery video with most videos I watch. Every 10-15 seconds, it seems like a frame is skipped and the video needs to catch up. My wife doesn't notice but it drives me nuts as I watch stuff.

When I stream from my friend's server, I don't ever notice any lag, but it's when it's my own local content (from server to my TV on the same network) where lag occurs.

I've been trying to figure this out for the best part of a year and have not been able to find the cause of problem.

I'll outline my setup:

  1. Video Source: content. I do aim for 4k whenever I can find the source
  2. Server: Macbook Pro (10 year old): Core i5 2.5ghz, 8gb memory
  3. Network: Fast Wifi: Nerd stats from my TV is showing band width is higher than the data bit rate so seems fine
  4. Receiver: Chromecast 4k with remote (2-3 years old)
  5. TV: LG OLED C5 (4k, HDR, only a few months old)
  6. Sound bar: Optical LG

Things I've tried

  • Plex setting Audio passthrough: Optical, HDMI, automatic -> no changes
  • Plex setting Subtitles: burn in, auto, etc -> nothing
  • Content: I checked the content on a different computer and I don't seem to see the lag that I'm seeing on a particular show.
  • Network latency seems solid.
  • Nvidia Shield: I bought one, tried it out and still saw these lag spikes.
  • TV: I can play 4K Blurays buttery smooth

What are other things I could be missing here? I feel like I've go through every possibility at this point without any solution.

I wasn't there but my wife noticed the car making this sound. Is it normal? She was just about to leave, van was at 100% charge, had been just unplugged, cold engine that was off. It wasn't a hot day at all. Thanks

I just came from a Subaru Crosstrek (standard, non-hybrid model) and changed oil every 10k KM (6k Miles).

How do you calculate the oil changes on this Hybrid Pacifica if most of the time you use the all-electric drive train? Do you still based your oil changes on distance driven or do you let the car computer handle it?

I feel a lot of people probably just change it based on distance driven anyways as a safety net but if I've only driven say 2k KM for every 10k KM I drive, then I'm wasting a bunch of dough.

I created a fix for the Stow N Go carpet problem. I had been wracking my brain on the best solutions and I've come up with something that can be used if you have a 3D printer.

If the eyelets of the back carpet of your Pacifica have broken, the Carpet Fix part can be glued to the underside to act as a grommet. Use contact cement. I've included a glue jig that can help clamp the part in a clamp.

If you've lost any of the carpet fasteners that clamp the carpet to the floor, use the Carpet Clamp part which has threads that fit the car perfectly. 5 are needed.

If the carpet problem has popped the vent covers off and broken the clips, the Vent Clip will replace these. Remove the yellow plastic piece from the vent itself and simply use this single part that slides into the vent cover.

Let me know how it goes!
