I’m about to receive my R1 in the next few weeks and I’m currently preparing my music library for it.

Most of the music I listen to isn’t available in lossless or FLAC, so I usually download it from YouTube as MP3 (sometimes M4A) using yt-dlp. A lot of what I have are long mixes (like 1-hour sets), which I then split into individual tracks so I can skip songs if needed.

These mixes are meant to be heard continuously, so I make sure playback stays gapless. In apps like MusicBee and Poweramp, with gapless playback enabled, it still feels like listening to a single uninterrupted mix.

My question is: will I need to do anything special to make sure this same seamless/gapless experience works properly on the R1, or is it fine to just organize my library the same way?

Every wired earphone i buy starts having issues in a couple of months, like i go through 3 to 5 a year. Now it was never an issue because iwas always buying 3 dollars ones. But now i m going to buy the KZ ZSN PRO X which is 30$ where i am, and i definetly cant afford to buy multiple of those a year.

The issue i usually get is the cable next to the jack port starts only working in certain positions.

My usage is normal i d say, i plug them into my phone and it stays in my pocket while i work which includes some light walking and sitting up/standing down, no heavy duty.

Ps : the cables of the cheap earphones i buy are simple cables and not the braided or any fancy ones. Unsure how much of a difference it makes.

  1. Is there a way to fast forward in a track ? for example i listen to an hour long track, can i fast forward or backwards a couple of minutes ?

  2. When browsing music, can i browse Genres/Albums and not Genres/Artists , meaning, i want to see all albums from a certain genre when i select it and not the artists.

Thank you

i have some albums that contain songs from different artists. i want to have them shown as a single album and not each one on its own.
