Opening Pool DIY First Time!

Hi, all, it’s getting to be pretty warm here in the Midwest, and I am going to attempt to open my pool with my fiancé for the first time this year! Getting everything prepped, and opened up the pump housing to find two drain plugs, and a Jandy valve. I attached a picture of the plumbing and want to make sure that I’m doing things right. I know it’s a silly question, but which way should I have both Jandy valves turned? Don’t want to mess the first time up!

Tough Hard Water Spots on PPF

Hi all, have been a long time lurker of this sub, now asking for some advice. I work in a hospital next to a fire station, and the fire station blasts water out of their trucks in the parking lot next to the garage I park in periodically for reasons I’m not familiar with. Unfortunately, I was parked down wind of them doing this today, and got my whole front end sprayed, and cooked on when I was at work. It’s mostly contained to the hood that has PPF on it, and I already cleaned some of it off with Dr. Beasley’s Film Cleanser. I do still have some tough spots that may be deposits and/or etching, so just asking for any additional insight/ideas on what to try/expect. Thank you!
