Obsidian Mirror Aztec Pantheon (Not a Concept, the Actual DLC)

From these two videos:

https://youtu.be/VCTxd5Yra8w?si=qhbTAQAVO\_gFti4x

https://youtu.be/9SvS6ghh4HI?si=hJzDWPc501Wjs1s\_

https://www.youtube.com/live/Yx6UQo5LDoA?si=GKQ0VS1mdkLQDiMu

So we got a decent look at the Aztecs with these 3 videos, so I compiled all info I can to the best of my ability to those who are interested. I marked the info I'm not 100% confident on with a "*". Enjoy!

Economy:

The Aztecs have Settlers, the exact numbers aren't known but they appear to be similar to Greek Villagers or Japanese Commoners in terms of gather rate and build speed.

Their dropsite is the Calpulli, costing 75 wood and acting as a building dropsite for Food, Wood, and Gold, similar to the Silo for the Chinese. They research all the eco techs like normal but they also have a special feature. Livestock Pen, Lumber Outpost, Craft Workshop.

These are additions you can put onto a Calpulli for a small cost. They're limited to one per, as in you can put Livestock Pen on only one Calpulli at a time, same with Lumber Outpost and Craft Workshop. So you can have 3 Calpullis each with these additions, but if you want to make it elsewhere you'd need to destruct the Calpulli with that specific addition. Calpullis themselves aren't limited but these special Calpullis are, and even with these additions all resources can still be dropped off at them.

Livestock Pen increases dropped off food by 15% (like a weak empowerment) and as a secondary ability it spawns herdables when food is deposited.

Lumber Outpost increases dropped off wood by 15% (like a weak empowerment) and as a secondary ability it fires arrows and can be garrisoned by 5 units at a time.

Craft Workshop increases dropped off gold by 15% (like a weak empowerment) and as a secondary ability 10% of any other resources dropped off here (food and wood) are converted to gold.

The caravan is the Pochtecatl Caravan, just a human carrying a basket on his back.

Wood and gold eco techs are normal but farm eco techs are different. Aztecs still have plow but lack irrigation and flood control. Instead it's replaced by Chinampas, a more expensive tech that's available in the heroic age but is twice as effective*.

Favor:

Units dying drop red orbs that can be collected by towers, great temples (fortress-type building for the aztecs), temples*, and Warrior Priests.

Settlers can be tasked into temples to drain their health to give bursts of favor, lots of favor can be gotten this way. It might have diminishing returns as you do it throughout a match, I'm unsure of that*

Military:

You have two main military buildings. War Hut and Noble Hut. The fortress building for the Aztecs is called the Great Temple.

War Hut makes 2 units -

- Tlamanih Spearman, infantry only good against cavalry (hard counter to cavalry, similar to Yari Spearman, can build smoke traps and spike traps both with a limit of 6), available in CLASSICAL AGE

- Tequihua Archer, ranged soldier good against infantry (soft counter to infantry, fires very fast, faster than any other archer, can build smoke traps and spike traps both with a limit of 6), available in the CLASSICAL AGE

Traps are stealthed and build quickly, smoke traps reduce visibility of enemy units in an area, spike traps deal damage to enemy units in an area.

Noble Hut makes 3 units -

- Coyote Warrior, infantry only good against ranged units (hard counter to ranged units), available in CLASSICAL AGE

- Ocelotl Warrior [they fixed the name], infantry good against anything it can reach (Generalist Infantry with a leap attack and stealths when next to trees and bushes), available in CLASSICAL AGE

- Eagle Warrior, ranged unit good against anything it can reach especially against ranged soldiers (Generalist Ranged Unit which is also a soft counter to ranged units), available in HEROIC AGE

Great Temple makes 4 units -

- Otontin Smasher, infantry good against buildings (similar to Destroyer, very slow), available in HEROIC AGE

- Shorn One, infantry only good against other infantry (hard counter to infantry, has an ability that stuns and reduces enemy damage around it), available in HEROIC AGE

- Jaguar Rider, cavalry good against anything it can reach (Generalist Cavalry with insane damage and speed, has the same leap ability as the Ocelotl Warrior, also has the stealth ability when near trees and bushes), available in MYTHIC AGE

- Quinametzin, ranged siege myth unit good against buildings, (myth unit available to all gods, acting as the dedicated mythic age siege unit for the Aztecs, not good against units), available in MYTHIC AGE

Armory is normal in terms of effects but the visuals are replaced with civilization appropriate icons like flint/jade/obsidian weapons and feather armor/shields.

Stealthed units can be revealed by towers and scout units.

Scouting:

Quimichin Spies are made from the town center but you also start with one at the beginning of the game. It's stealthed when next to trees and bushes like the Ocelotl Warrior but it has another passive that makes it's line of sight increase when it's standing still like an Atlantean Oracle. It's really bad at attacking and it is not a hero so it can't collect relics.

Heroes:

Warrior Priests are your only hero, and it's made at the temple. It's a melee hero that can build towers and Great Temples (fortress-type building for the Aztecs). Collects Tonalli and can collect relics. Has an ability called teixiptla where it becomes an avatar of the major god you are which comes with a special attack, passives, more health, damage, etc. Only remains in this mode for a limited time, returns back to a Warrior Preist when it's over*.

Special Techs:

There's a tech that can be got in the HEROIC AGE that upgrades the effectiveness of both the smoke and spike traps.

There's 3 "rituals" you can do at the Great Temple that requires certain garrisoned units that kills them when activated. All of them are single use.

- Arrival of the Gods, garrison 6 Warrior Priests into the Great Temple to create a special teixiptla that has a much greater life span and combat stats

- Cosmic Guard, garrison 15 human soldiers into the Great Temple to make 6 myth units, 3 from the heroic age and 3 from the mythic age (only Aztec myth units but from any god, not specifically the ones you chose)
