Best Travel Planner in the World!

Hey, me and my college friend absolutely LOVE to travel, but we came across the following two problems:

  1. Planning a trip yourself is very tedious/time consuming
  2. Dealing with travel agents is a waste of time - they do commission driven bookings in most cases

To solve this problem, we're building Atlaara - atlaara.com
It's supposed to be the best travel planner app in the world (We're planning on adding a feature wherein you can book your entire trip as well).
Now we know that we're very far from this goal and hence, we need a lot of feedback from people who like to travel.
Please use our app and let us know how we can move towards this goal!

Hey everyone,

I’m hoping to get some honest feedback on a problem I'm trying to solve.

As someone who travels a lot, the fragmentation of trip planning is annoying. But I realized the bigger, more systemic problem is the total lack of transparency in the industry.

Traditional travel agents and major booking platforms are heavily commission-driven. When you get a recommendation, it's incredibly hard to know if you’re getting the itinerary that’s actually best for you, or just the one that pays the agent the highest kickback.

I’m trying to build the infrastructure to fix this: a purely transparent engine that generates the best possible customized itinerary for you and lets you book it directly at the best global prices, with zero hidden agendas.

I've put together a very early, very rough prototype (atlaara.com) just to test the core concept. I’m not here to sell anything, frankly, it's full of bugs, takes way too long to draft an itinerary right now, and is far from the finish line.

Before I sink more months of development into this, I need some harsh truths from people who travel frequently:

  • Have you ever felt burned or pushed into a specific booking by a travel agent or platform?
  • If a platform promised 100% unbiased, non-commission-driven itineraries, what is the #1 feature it would need to actually earn your trust?
  • What is the most frustrating part of piecing together your own trips to avoid the "travel agent tax"?

Any brutal feedback, technical critiques of the prototype, or general reality checks on the idea would be massively appreciated.
