HGV NYC 2 Night Promo
Found the offer online last year. Couldn’t fill it in as required US citizen details (I’m from Europe). Rang up and they let me complete the promotion.
$199 for 2 nights in a NY Vacation Club + 50k HH points - steal (some tax applied on top took it to something like $220! Just required a 2hr timeshare presentation.
Attended the presentation alone today. I’m 22 and work in finance. Sat down and after 5 mins of chatting and answering q’s from the sales associate (Steve) about what I do and how long I’ve done it for (only 1.5 yrs as I recently graduated), he just turned around and said ‘I don’t want to waste your time and I don’t want you to waste mine - are you even interested in purchasing today?’… I replied with potentially and that I wanted to learn more (I didn’t care just didn’t want them to think I hadn’t fulfilled the requirements of my presentation and then charge me full price for the stay and not credit the points…). He went away and 30 secs later came back and said ‘it’s your lucky day, no need for the presentation - we are overbooked’. I was then handed off twice, no goodbye and out the door after a total of 15ish mins.
Hopefully don’t need to pay full rate for the room, but they said I had met my requirements and they’d ‘give me everything they had promised’. 50k points had credited 15mins later…
No complaints for not having to do the presentation and getting a bargain for 2 nights + points, but extremely rude manner the sales associate went about it and basically called me poor lol…
