Kaffir lime tree has some branches with thinner leaves, should I cut them?
Hi everyone, I’ve been growing this kaffir lime tree for about 1.5 years now.
I’ve noticed there are 2 branches coming from the same point at the stem that have leaves which look a lot thinner than the other leaves. You can spot the branches in the first pic - one is sticking up straight on the left and the other one is hanging low on the right.
The leaves coming off these branches are a lot thinner and I’ve noticed the first leaf hasn’t grown, it’s only the second leaf that grows big.
My question is, should I leave these two branches be or is it better to cut them off completely? I’ve spotted some new shoots starting to grow from the middle of the left branch and don’t really want to cut these off because I really want my tree to grow. But at the same time, I’m not sure if the branches are sucking up nutrients going to the other leaves.
Any guidance would be super helpful. Thank you!
