So good news, the top on this machine is in incredibly easy to access. But as a novice vintage machine restorer (this is my first time trying seriously). I'm curious.

One part (black) looks like it may be a 3d print and another looks to be an odd color (maybe it is rusted?). Sadly the manual I picked up with the machine does not name these parts so I don't know what to look for if I want to replace them (I decidedly would like to NOT have a plastic gear in this machine, especially since I can likely find another one to grab components if needed).
