When Does Pride Become Ego?
Pride in your roots and ancestors is understandable. But why do some people refuse honest jobs because they think the work is “beneath” them, even when they are struggling financially?
Why is social image sometimes more important than survival?
For example, there is a Rajput family in my village that is struggling financially. I could offer them a caregiver job at my home with a decent monthly income, but they would probably refuse because they feel that kind of work is beneath their family status.
Do you think this comes more from caste, family pressure, ego, or fear of judgment?
