Millers seriously need some love

I tried duo miller builds many times, poor damage, low survivability, poor spread, only good quality is the perk which you need to be close to reliably use because of the spread.

I bought a 3rd one since they're cheap and I have two fused, and even on a ten stack stronghold, 4 equalizers are just infinitely better. And if I wanted a big chunky minigun, reapers do better too, without needing 30 energy to do at most unfused joules damage. Then again, it doesn't feel like 3 millers even do that much damage.

They're one of the weapons I want to play and use often, but man, they suck. Decreasing their energy to even 9 won't do much honestly either. Like, sure potentially 3 extra energy, but for what? Harmonizers maybe and an extra aquilo. But the damage is still pretty poor.

Did they get nerfed, were they hard meta initially for sometime or something? Maybe there's a secret build combination that makes them good but I haven't seen one, at all. What's everyone else's thoughts on them, because I seriously want to love and use them but it feels sisyphean to try and make them relevant.

EDIT: Playing them a bit more, they're damage is alright, but the spread is bad which means hitting perk shots further than close range is unlikely especially when moving. So perhaps 9 energy would do more than I first suspected, 2 harmonizers would help enough but needing harmonizers to deal with the spread is, not ideal I'd say. Not proposing a 9 energy buff, it's just one that came to mind because of using 3 millers is expensive, and an aquilo is essentially necessary. But something would be nice I think. Doubt they would ever become oppressive either unless gigabuffed.

Printscreen didn't want to work, AMD is also a nuisance.

But 4 people disconnected from the team I joined (greyed out player names) after it started, on a build I didn't want to use (especially on the map powerplant) against the enemy team comp. And somehow it was still 3v4.

And the best part?

Can we maybe NOT be matched with some guy at rank 1000 below rank 100 matches? Please?

I mean holy shit, the current rank 1 just got like 5 freelo games for no reason.

Rank 60 -> rank 200.

Am I meant to start jumping up and down clapping as I watch the enemy team stacked as shit, rank 1 and several top 20 players, and I get timmy from rank 1000?

Thinking 2100 is in reach, I instead got tickled in the prostate with a toilet brush.

It's pretty apparent they won't be going down in price any time soon since people finally recognized how strong damage + cryo is. Dolores is obviously exacerbating the problem giving them a free 60% damage increase (dolores is a common denominator in a lot of problematic builds, surprise surprise) but despite the cust. piece getting nerfed with less cryo on-hit, damage cap, and removal of blast radius increasing along with damage they're still expensive.

So, idk, are they gonna give us some dual elephant pack for 12 or 24 quid? Very unlikely but yeah, don't see them going down any other way other than making them craftable, or nerfing them.

But now considering giving pack items cust. pieces that are insanely good does irreparable damage to their cost (so far), will they continue doing so?

The new joules are a good step towards a better direction balance-wise, but I would imagine they will too increase in price back up to a more stable 2k potentially.

I sometimes see people asking or proposing buffs for assemblers, to which I always just itch my head in confusion, because they never seemed like they needed any form of buff, let alone love honestly speaking. They're designed to be stripping weapons that can charge up a lot to do nearly 500 damage with incredibly fast projectiles, making them great at long range.

And, with this BFU, they are comfortably performing in high ranks amongst hybrids and sovereigns. Granted, it can be seen as a bit of a rock-paper-scissors situation, but their single target damage and dps is no doubt good. So much so they went up to the typical legendary price up to 2k from their usual 1.2-1.5k price point.

Some weapons are inherently specialists/counter weapons as they are, and buffing them would make them completely dominant over the builds they specialize against, and oppressive against other general builds.

Same can be said about the morta which is the other weapon I often see buffs proposed for, but again, it am just bewildered that people do. A weapon that passes through your entire build, ignoring armour, cabins, or weapons like avalanche that might be used as a frontal shield. It counters builds with low dura engines and ammo boxes, and also low durability weapons that might be hidden like pyres, flutes, nests etc.

If you were to buff it's damage, it would pop builds in less shots, and some in just one (pretty sure you can if you aim at the ground to explode it) and that's just not fun, at all. Heavy builds are ever more screwed since despite the morta forcefield being slow, dodging that on a slow acceleration, low top speed build is unrealistic.

There are some things, that you really shouldn't buff, unless they are really bad. But we saw how disgustingly broken cust. elephants were because they had cryo damage, on top of dealing insane damage with a large explosion radius. If you were to have put that perk on something like fatmans instead, it wouldn't have been that game breaking, since you still could use resistances against it.

This is just something I see a lot, and I understand wanting something you like to be buffed, but depending on it's nature, it might be a proposal you'd end up regretting when being on the receiving end of it.

Can't really consider them anything else. They were already obnoxious enough that they had several movement parts nerfed for cockpit, got nerfed a couple times already, but it will never be enough. It exploits the crap physics in this game, and now with hyenas, these builds are arguably tankier than heavy builds. Especially with cabs like Kami removing cryo and heat, and Kensei that now also gives 25% DP.

I got rammed for around 1.8k damage one time by a build with just 3 tritons. 4 hyenas, most structural parts destroyed, but enough to do that much damage. They knew hyenas were perfect with tritons, and hence triton users are perfect customers for the BP. But it gets tiring pointing at "oh, it's this movement part", "it's this cabin", "it's that x" instead of the common denominator which is tritons, like 90% of the time.

Give them a limited explosion, that can be charged once, and then needs a carcass to restore it's ability to charge up another explosion, as is the theme with ravager weapons; titans, thyrsus, kronos (uses ravager tech). Would it solve it? No, you still get rammed and then pushed about anyways, which is the problem. Hell, maybe just make it so it can only charge off of carcasses but it gets the perk from the start like Thyrsus. anything at this point.

It is so bad, loot pools good I love the sword rifle thing, but the map is atrocious. Please tell me this won't last more than a week, or at MOST, a month?
