Hey so I have just realised my hearing on my left side is worse. Did a test at home and my left ear is 4db quieter than my right ear.
So it’s time to stop messing around and get ear plugs for work. What brands do you recommend? Price is not an issue would spend up to 1000$ on them as I need to keep my ears looked after.
I have seen the xtouch with onpc ma3. Has anyone used this for shows? Is it reliable or wouldn’t trust it? I’m thinking on getting a node4 with xtouch to start with and then move to a command wing down the line for me to use in events that don’t use ma3.
Let me know if you have used it with any issues or it ran perfect?
Hey, so I’m a lighting guy that mainly uses ma3 for all sorts of events. I’m at a point now where my big clients just expect me for programming, systems and oping and my smaller clients are starting to ask if I have any lighting gear or consoles and when I mean by bigger and smaller clients I mean size of company and the scale of events.
I get asked just enough from smaller clients that if I was to spend money on a small rig with truss/baseplates and a console it probably would be able to pay for itself in 2 years. Thats for like a ma3 command wing, 6 basic wash’s and 4 basic spots and some front wash and a hazer.
I’m thinking on wanting to split my work into renting and doing freelancing but I’m wanting to see what other lighting guys have done when they get to this point. I don’t want to blindly buy stuff, I want to see the mistakes that other guys made so I can figure out a good plan.
So if you have done this successfully or non successful how did you go about this and why you started to do it?
