Responding to several posts in the last hours
Hey everyone, thank you for the feedback over the last few hours. I want to take this time to briefly address them all in here.
First, Bevel is not turning into an all-AI app.
3.0 was centered around Bevel Intelligence because it was a huge upgrade. We added a lot of new capabilities: Files, Training Plans, and Check-ins. But that doesn't mean everything is going to be AI moving forward. We're already building improvements for the next iterations around Fitness, Journal, and Nutrition, all of which will be free features, which leads me to my next point.
It seems like a lot of this feedback is coming from free users. Reading between the lines, many of these concerns are from people who haven't been using Bevel Intelligence, and/or missed the grandfather pricing. From the data we're seeing, people who do use it have been using it a lot. Average usage is around 3x higher than before, and people are using it in ways we couldn't have imagined. I want to share this because while it might not seem valuable to you, it is to a lot of people. And again, that doesn't mean Bevel is going all-in on AI.
We're also seeing a lot of new faces here. If you're new here, welcome, but I'll be honest. It's a bit strange to us how several posts blew up overnight and comments from accounts that have never commented here before (not sure if it has something to do with my tweet from last night).
Being transparent and working with our community has always been our focus. This sub is no stranger to negative posts. Every major release has had similar pushback.
With Strength Builder, people asked why we were building it, saying it didn't add anything to the analytics side. Nutrition received the same reactions because people didn't understand why we had to build it, and Bevel Intelligence V1 was a similar story.
We agree these features aren't perfect when they're first released, but we have continued improving them over the course of the last 2+ years since Bevel launched. Our vision has always been to build a connected system for your health and fitness, one that understands every aspect of you. That's where we see the value of Bevel: the more context it has, the more it can help. It's not simply about building new features because we can.
We're going to keep our heads down and keep building. Thank you again for the feedback. Can't wait to show you what's next.
