what the fuck is on with that euphoria show?

TW: mentions of harm and abuse and some sexual content

Note I haven’t actually watched the show, so everything I am saying is based of synoposis’ I’ve read online and an interview with my bf who’s actually watched it.

The first two seasons seem fine. It is absolutely not an accurate portrayal of the average day at a high school but I guess some parts of it would be believable. Abuse in relationships, drug and alcohol use. Wouldn’t say it’s common but I COULD see it happening at maybe one or two high schools. One thing that’s weird about the show is why didn’t they make all the characters college aged with the amount of sexual content 💀. I have this same issue with kakegurui in the fact there’s so much sexualization of high schoolers. I’m aware the actors themselves are adults but it seems weird.

I have seen glimpses of the third season through twitter and tiktok and I’m so confused lmao. Giant Sydney Sweeney stomping through a town and Jacob Elordi getting jumped and Zendaya in a danganronpa style execution. I get they’re adults but all of that CANNOT possibly be necessary 💀. Especially what I’ve seen about Sydney. I get she’s supposed to be an OF model of the sorts, but there’s no way all the shots depicting her work have to be that much. I’m not against other women showing their bodies or being sexual but some of the clips I’ve seen just look like the writers barely disguised fetish meme. Even my bf is considering dropping the show and he watches that show religiously the second a new episode drops.

Edit: Reading the comments, I want to apologize for being ignorant regarding drug and alcohol use and abuse in high school. It seems its a more common issue than I thought and I downplayed it in my post.

The “SpiderVerse ArtStyle” isn’t necessarily a better animation style, it is just better for the projects Disney, Pixar, Sony, and Dreamworks do.

If you don’t know what the “Spiderverse Artstyle” is, it’s referring to layering 2d animation onto 3d animation and straying away from realism to take a more cartoonish and visually diverse concept on animation. Originated from the Spiderman Into the Spiderverse move. To be clear, I’m not shitting on this artstyle at all I do think it looks amazing but people saying this is a better artstyle than realistic animation at 24fps I have to disagree with.

Some of the most notable movies are spiderverse, puss in boots the last wish, mitchells and the machines, the bad guys, and k pop demon hunters.

The spiderverse animation style worked with all of these movies because they’re all fun, catchy, action movies that have silly rules that allow you to have fun with the animation a bit. And sometimes I feel like it wasn’t even explicit with it. Some were obvious with the 2d and 3d layering like Spiderverse, mitchells and the machines but others like the bad guys it was a bit more subtle.

Now I don’t think this is “the best” animation style ever. I think it works on some and doesn’t on others. For example, nimona had this artstyle and I really didn’t like it. Sure, it made it visually interesting but I have the original book and loved it. The artwork was simple and non-flashy so I feel like the overly flashy artstyle just clashed too much with the book. Not saying we can’t have fun, but I personally thought it was an odd choice to do. Don’t hate the movie though, I still thought it was great!

This fun flashy artstyle just seems better because most of the animation studios are putting out kids movies that work well with this artstyle.

For me, realistic 3d animation is far better for serious stories or serious moments. Spiderverse animation doesn’t need to be used for every animation release. I don’t even think Disney needs the artstyle to save their movies they just need to stop making the same fuckass movie 100x and spend time making new character models for their women and giving them different personalities.

im confused scrolling through the subreddit because the LEQ prompts I got were about military and beauracracy from 1200-1450, nationalism from 1750-1900, and totalitarian efforts to suppress culture from twentieth century onward. Did I click the wrong LEQ prompt or what 😭

did a lot better on my second round of practice. I just rewrote everything I needed to know more about in my own words and it helped me remember a lot more than just straight up copying.

Sorry but it really isn't, I understand that yes one is technically a minor and the other is technically an adult, but it's two years. It also doesn't make sense because I'm 15 and my bf is 17, nobody has an issue with that now but then suddenly it'll become weird when he legally becomes an adult? Some mf told me, and I quote "it's weird because he'd have crossed the boundary of when he'll become an adult so it automatically becomes grooming" Do people think some neuron in your brain activates the second you legally become 18 where you gain ten years in emotional maturity and suddenly 17 year olds are wittle tiny babies compared to you? 😭

SOME right wing men go on and on about how it’s misandry when women are cautious around them at night or alone. How women are “stupid wamen” for choosing the bear.

Then whenever the discussion is about women being harmed, suddenly it’s:

“Was she drunk?”

“She shouldn’t have been in that situation”

“We look both ways before crossing the street, lock our doors, theres no excuse for her”

“Why are you walking around alone at night?”

And I just want to fucking laugh because they make no sense. They want us to be absolutely trusting and unaware of all the people surrounding us but then we still have to be careful when it actually happens. If one of you guys could please explain what you mean in the replies I’d be happy to know because it really doesn’t make sense to me.

Now before anyone comes at me this post is not meant to promote any misogynistic or misandristic ideas, so if you were looking for that you aren’t welcome here. Also before all the redpillers get mad, I do think that misandry is a thing, this just isn’t an instance of it.

The entire reason of women being cautious around every man at night or in spaces alone is that we don’t know whether a guy is good or bad. Even if it’s only 1% of men that are bad we’d rather be careful and take the 0% chance of us being harmed. Let’s say all 180 million women in the U.S. chose to walk by men at night. If we’re keeping our number of 1% men being violent, that means 1.8 million women are harmed. Lowering our guess to 0.1% of men leaves us with 180,000 women harmed. Obviously “harm” is vague and can be a spectrum of verbal harassment ranging all the way to rape or murder, but it’s better that we don’t take the risk. Because yeah, maybe the violent guy will just call us a bitch or he could kill us. We don’t know. It’s better to not take the risk of being harmed at all.

I’m just tired of women expressing a very valid habit and then some angry guys are piping up with misandry. We don’t think it’s all men, we just don’t know which men.

*Just to clarify this YES I know women can abuse people too just as horribly and I do think it is valid for men to be cautious around women at night as well.*
