I feel bad for my driver and frustrated that most of the money I paid goes to Uber, especially with gas prices so high. This was a one-hour drive, yet I’ve heard Uber has doubled its profits in recent years. Greed at its peak. We can do better. With advancements in AI, we could probably build a better app that pays fairly. Something like 90% going to the driver and only 10% to the platform. Hell, even if it’s 80% to the driver and 20% to the platform, that’s still so much better than what we have now.
