I'm building a 60 gallon walstad tank for my biology classroom
At the start of January, I went to Crayons and Computers during the biggest snow day of the year. As I was the only person there at the time I got to talking with the staff on the scene.
Staff: "Hey, I have something in the back you might want to see."
Me: "Uhh, ok."
And that's how I became the owner of a 60 gallon fishtank and all the kit.
Now I'm lazy, like to travel during the summer and absolutely do not want to come in every few days to feed fish. My question is, or ask is how to build a self sustaining tank, but make it as awesome as possible on a budget.
I realize I'm stretching the triangle here, but I can use it to teach about predator -prey interactions, the carbon cycle, photosynthesis, cellular respiration etc. I just don't want to come in every 4 days to feed fish.
P.s. it must include snails. I understand they clean walls, I also just really like snails.
