How I’d fix one of the biggest plot holes in ST5
One of the biggest plot holes at the end of stranger things 5 was when the military just decide to let everyone go after eleven and the upside down vanishes.
How’d I change this to make sense is by utilising 2 characters 1 being sergeant ramierz (the military dude who’s face is impaled by Vecna in ep4) and Dr Owen’s who was not in S5.
I’d have Sullivan die in ep 4 the way ramierz died in Sorceror (impaled face by Vecna.) Dr Kay dies in ep 7 by a demogorgon attack which occurs when the main party tries to enter upside down. Lieutenant Akers could die the same way he dies. Leaving ramierz the only major military character left, he survives the attacks in ep 4 but is injured.
Then in ep 8 when the party comes back from the upside down to MAC Z sergeant ramierz and the military still capture them however I’d have eleven die (through kali illusions) by preventing the mind flayer particles from getting out of the upside down. Ramierz wants to arrest and punish the party for them killing several military soldiers and damaging military property and bases. Along with this he also doesn’t want the military reputation to be harmed by Dr Kay’s experiments so he also doesn’t want the party to get out and reveal this to Hawkins.
However then Dr Owen’s appears, he makes a deal with ramierz. They agree that if monetary compensation is given for the loss of military soldiers and that Dr Owen’s and the party Dont reveal what Dr Kay was doing ramierz would let the party go. Which they agree to then the epilogue plays as usual.
