Irish tin whistle and GHB

Hello all,

A friend of mine started learning to play on an Irish tin whistle and it seems very nice. I was wondering if trying to learn that parallel to learning to play the GHB would be problematic or not (could it even be beneficial?)

What do you think?

Thanks

Pipescore

Hi all,

Does anyone know the website Pipescore for writing music?

I wanted to use it to put several bars of different tunes that I want to practice out of their tunes and have them all on one sheet music instead of going back and forth between the tunes. The thing is that I'm trying to write a triplet but I only get single notes. I managed to do it once but then I accidentally deleted it and I've no idea how I managed to connect the notes to each other in the first place so I can't do it again 🤦‍♂️

Any tips?

Thanks

Operation Bounce House by Matt Dinniman

Hi all,

I just finished Operation Bounce House by Matt Dinniman. After listening to the Dungeon Crawler Carl audiobooks I was curious to see what else Matt came up with and I must say that it was very different even though it was very much the same >!(OPH is also about a "regular Joe" kinda good guy that find himself fighting for survival from an attack on his planet that's basically just a game for the attackers and does so with the help of an AI).!<

I'm wondering if anyone else felt this while reading/listening to this book.

Bottom line, I really enjoyed it and would recommend reading/listening to it but I thought it was a tiny bit lower on the scale compared to DCC.

Celiac in Crete

Hello all,

We're planing a trip to Crete and I was wondering if people here had any experience with Crete in regards to dealing with Celiac and finding gluten free options. Also if anyone has any personal experience with Lyttos Beach hotel, Star Beach hotel or Nana Golden Beach hotel in regards to staying there with celiac that would be great.

Thanks

Hi all,

I recently had issues that prevented me from practicing at all (neither PC nor pipes) so when I was finally able to practice again and picked up my pipes it was absolutely terrible. I therefore decided to take a step back - I changed the easy chanter reed I was using for the last few months for the very easy reed I had before and I corked the drones. That improved things a lot and I had a few practice sessions like that to get things going before trying the easy reed and the drones again. I wasn't very good before but I've noticed that when I had the outer tenor open (and especially when I added the bass drone as well) I was getting exhausted and winded very very quickly. That made me wonder if it were a matter of practice that would build stamina or that my drones were taking too much air. I should note that I tried setting the drones up like Matt Willis shown on his video by blowing the drone by mouth and having it stop when you blow really hard but when I put the drones in the pipes I had the outer tenor stop sometimes when I pressed the bag so I took the bridle a bit further down.

What do you think?

Cheers

p.s.

Today I mark my 3 year anniversary on this journey so I feel like this question is a bit inadequate but I guess I'm a slow learner so pleased bear with me 😄

Hi all,

I just finished reading Transient by Zachry Wheeler and although it's not a literary masterpiece I really enjoyed reading it. I really like stories about immortality (I really liked The Postmortal by Drew Magary and Arc of a Scythe by Neal Shusterman is my favorite series) as well as the ideal of vampires in the modern world (like in True Blood) so I recommend this book to anyone who shares these feelings.

What I didn't understand is why the vampires spoke Russian. I thought it would be explained at some point but it never was...

Thanks
