TW: bottom dysphoria
EDIT: I know people mean well and are just trying to help but I’d really appreciate if people stopped suggesting other methods of applying topical E. I made it very clear that my bottom dysphoria is extremely severe and I will not be interacting with that area any way unless I have explicit pre surgery intentions to do so. I was asking about the post op experiences of other people like me who are not able to/were not instructed to use topical E. Please use some discretion and remember what sub you’re in.
So I’ve been on T for 3 years and have some pretty substantial atrophy. I have really severe bottom dysphoria and the atrophy isn’t enough of an issue for me to consider using E cream as I struggle to even acknowledge that area’s existence. I’m never planning on having anything up there anyway so it doesn’t really affect my life. The trouble is that I’m 4 days post op for a laparoscopic total hysterectomy. The surgeon said that he’d recommend me using E cream but it’s not absolutely crucial. I haven’t used it because I physically can’t without wanting to throw up. It’s frustrating because I keep hearing people saying “JUST use E cream”, but it’s not a “just” for some of us, it’s simply not doable. I’m now freaking myself out by hearing about all the ways that atrophy can cause complications and I’m just wondering if there’s anyone out there who’s in the same boat as me? Did you have a smooth recovery without the need for any topical cream? I’m just hoping it’s not going to totally jeopardise my recovery.
