Just received my Metro Y Ultra and have been testing it with Metro 5.8.6 and noticed super poor viewport frame rates of 10-20 fps (Not scanning frame rate). If I enable the depth camera preview during scanning, this viewport frame rate goes to single digits of 5-7 fps. The software will say that the scanner is running at 89-90fps but the software feels nauseating to use. The scanner is in wired mode.

I noticed that if I use different screen resolutions, the viewport frame rate improves a little during different steps of the scanning process.

I checked with another device, a laptop with a 185H, 3K screen, 32gb Ram and a RTX 3090 and it's the same issue at 20 fps or less. It's like the software scales poorly with display resolution.

Does anyone else experience the same issue?

The scanner tracks fine and it's clear by the distance tool that it's running at a higher frame rate internally, but I can't say I'm impressed with using the scanner software. there's not much point boasting 90 fps when it renders so slow and delayed on hardware like this. It's user experience is comparable to the HD mode in the old Einscan Pro+ I have: bad.

I've used a Creaform HandyScan 700 that run at 60fps in VXelements on a average dell laptop with zero gpu acceleration, so I really hope there's a Metro software update that atleast runs the viewport at 60fps.

Update: I checked with wireless mode and while the Marker and Scanning FPS are the same, I don't experience the 50% drop in frame rate when enabling the depth camera preview, maybe just a marginal 5 fps.
