Only ~5k TP for £6k fare?
I posted a few days ago trying to estimate tier points for an upcoming trip booked via a 3rd party with mixed cabin class;
LHR-PHX fully flex premium economy (W selling class)
PHX-LHR business class (D selling class)
$7920 fare (exc taxes)
i managed to get BA on the phone and they said I'll only receive just under 5k tier points for this trip.
How are they calculating this? I'd expect ~$8k to roughly equal £6k, which should be 6k points, then the cabin bonuses on top. They refused to explain it on the call. I want to make sure I understand so I can make better booking choices next time. Any ideas how/why they use different tier point allocation rules?
