Did hemostatic IV affect my blood test results?

Hi,

I have a question regarding my blood tests (complete blood count and coagulation).

I went to the ER where these tests were done, and all the results came back normal. However, before the blood was taken, I was given an IV with hemostatic medication, and there was still a small amount left when they drew my blood.

Do you think this could have affected the coagulation results in any way (positively or negatively)? I assume the complete blood count wouldn’t really be influenced by the IV.

And if so, by what percentage

Sorry for making two posts, but I’m a bit confused. And honestly, I’d rather eat a cactus than have to repeat them again 😭

Gum Bleeding

27, M, 1.84, 83 kg

Good afternoon! I had the following issue, something a bit unusual: I had a dental scaling 5 days ago, and yesterday and today my gum kept bleeding almost all day. No matter what I did or how much pressure I applied, the bleeding wouldn’t stop (of course, there were moments when it stopped for 1–2 hours, then started again).

I went to an emergency dentist at midnight, but they couldn’t stop the bleeding. They told me they think it’s not caused by the gum or tooth, but possibly something related to my blood.

I then went to the emergency department, where they gave me an IV with hemostatic medication, and afterward they also took blood tests because the dentist insisted. The test results came back normal—I’ve attached them—but I’m wondering if it could still be something else, like leukemia, which the dentist seemed to suspect.

The bleeding stopped for about 3 hours, but then it started again today until around 2:00 PM, when I went to a dentist who managed to stop it. It has stayed stopped until now, 9:17 PM, fortunately :).

I spoke with a doctor who told me the test results look fine and that the cause was most likely local, not blood-related, but I’d like a second opinion.

TY :D
