Like do they just react to things automatically, or is there some kind of “experience” happening for them?

I’m wondering if there’s anything it actually feels like to be something that simple, or if they’re more like biological machines. Our brains are 1000x+ the size/weight of an ant. What would that say about consciousness if even ants have experience?

If someone has a bad habit that they will 100% regret in the future is it better to honor their wish to not be criticized or is it better to say something so they can possibly avoid massive future regret later?
