Delta LAX Line Mechanic Opening
I (22M) applied to Delta's latest A&P opening at LAX and they're offering $47.22/hr, which is a huge step up from my current $28/hr in rotorcraft. I have 5 months under my belt as a rotorcraft mechanic, a year of hotel maintenance experience, and a lot of safety conscious work. That being said, all the job posting is asking for minimally is an A&P cert, passed high school, has a good driving record and is safety conscious.
Not here to ask what my chances are but if you want to chime in on that then cool by me. I am mainly posting because I wanted some up-to-date insight on their hiring process and timeline. I applied April 2, 2026 and finished their online assessment after work on April 3, 2026. Is it true that they can take months to get back to me? I know it is likely too soon to hear back, which is fine, but I would like to mentally gauge how long it could take or if I was quietly rejected and should move on.
My Delta profile now says "Qualifications Under Review", and I have been and plan to continue checking back every day for an update. Does "Qualifications Under Review" mean I passed the assessment and am now just waiting on an interview?
Another strange thing I noticed is that the job posting says February 26, 2026. (Delta A&P Listing) Is it normal for airlines to keep a listing up for over a month?
