Main Window Problems

Running 3.5.1 on a Windows 10 Enterprise on a Dell laptop for work. I downloaded and was fiddling with an MP4 on OpenShot with no problems, but then changed an aspect ratio (or something similar, it was last Friday) and she's never been the same since.

ISSUE: on opening the application, half of the buttons and details are missing from sight, see first image. I think their function is still present for some of them but the area of function is shifted from any visual sign of it. E.g., I can resize the window on the far left, but only by click and dragging a location a little way into the dark blue window.

Trying to navigate even the ribbon is a monster. When I try to select 'Edit', only the E darkens and only some of the options show themselves. See image 2, when I scroll down the options on the Help area the options literally disappear under the mouse only to reappear when I move the mouse back over them.

TRIED: restarting the computer (4x now). Uninstalling and reinstalling (3x now). Navigating blindly to try and pull up the Properties window, only for the window to be complete unintelligible.

I managed to install the app on a desktop and I've been treating it with kid gloves, and no problems so far. My laptop is still screwed up, though every other app is unaffected. Any idea what went wrong and how I can fix it?

Save the California Room!

The California Room is a hidden gem whose very existence makes me proud to be a Californian—few other states face our troubled history with as much sincerity towards truth and reconciliation. And it only costs us 0.6% (EDIT: 0.007%, thank you u/Splurch) of the city budget to run it! And yet the city council is considering shutting it down as a cost cutting measure.

No one else is going to preserve the history of our city for us. It’s up to us to ask the mayor and city council to take less damaging (and more sensible) measures to fix our budget.

We’re already seeing the feds cripple our ability to tell and preserve American history—tell the City Council that shit will NOT fly in San Jose! Preserve our libraries and local history!

Will these be correct? Probably not. But they're slightly different from the general consensus of Azz and Clara's secrets... well, Clara's secret. I don't know how much discourse there is on Azz's secret.

Azz: his bloodline magic is that he's an incubus. Not too weird from other guesses but here's my take on it.

  • We never see his tail, which seems to be a general sign of sexual dimorphism in demons
  • his bio-family members (that we know of) are all female
  • his mom, in order to match outfits with him, wore a pant suit instead of having him in a dress (which, thanks to Opera and Kalego, we know would've been socially acceptable to a degree; we also know he has experience wearing girl's clothes from the first evidol arc, so its not like he hasn't done it before)
  • it's been stated multiple times that gender doesn't matter for demons (even if it was during comedic times).

Headcanon: Asmodeus Alice is a trans incubus, with a very supportive and slightly overbearing mom.

Clara: this does have to do with her wings, but not entirely. I think her family is descended from non-demons, at least a bit like Ameri.

  • her wings are never shown, nor are her family's. Theories are strong for angel wings, alternatively no wings.
  • her family lives in general isolation in the middle of a forest; maybe because they're not directly connected to Demon Border Control like the Azazels and want to make sure they can hide from other demons if needed
  • we haven't seen her dad, who is off "adventuring" (maybe he's in the human realm? Maybe he's half/not a demon himself?!)

Headcanon: the Valac family is descended from a mixed line, either half-human, or, alternatively, half-deity.
