I got tired of losing links from Reddit comments, so I built a browser extension — 51 installs in, my journey

I built a browser extension because I couldn't stop losing links — here's what I learned

Honestly, the problem started embarrassingly simple: I'd be scrolling through a Reddit thread or a Discord server, someone drops a tool or an article in the comments, I think "I'll check this later" — and it's gone forever.

My browser had 50+ tabs open at all times. Not because I needed them all, but because closing them felt like losing something. Classic tab hoarder behavior.

Bookmarks didn't help. The folder system turns into a graveyard fast — you save stuff, never find it again, and eventually stop trusting it altogether.

So I built QuickKeep — a lightweight browser extension that lets you save anything instantly:

• **Double-click or select to save** — highlight any text or link, either double-click or just select it, and it's saved. That's it.

• **Tab saving** — save the tab you're currently on with one click instead of leaving it open "just in case"

• **Cross-device sync** — your saves follow you everywhere

• **Group saves** — this one came from another personal pain point. I share links with friends constantly. So I added a feature where you can share a collection of saves with friends. Like a shared clipboard, basically.

Where I'm at right now:

- 51 installs total

- 27 active users

- 7 weekly active users (growing slowly but steadily)

Still early days. No fancy growth hack, no viral moment — just scratching my own itch and seeing if others feel the same pain.

If you're a chronic tab hoarder or constantly losing links from comments/threads, I'd genuinely love for you to try it and what do you think.

If you try it and find it useful, a review on the Chrome Store would genuinely mean a lot🙏

Hi everyone!

I created QuickKeep Bookmark. I launched the extension on the Edge Add-ons store(also in chrome store) a while back, and after several rounds of updates, I’m looking to get some "power user" feedback from this community to help me refine the experience.

I built this because I found that most bookmarking tools were too "single-player." I wanted a way to capture web context quickly and share it with my circle without the friction of copy-pasting links into a chat.

I've been working on some good features(at least that what i think) that i think it could be helpful

I’m looking for your feedback

I’m really looking forward to hear your thoughts.

Thanks

I recently launched my extension, QuickKeep Bookmark, and the data from the last 30 days(it's less a little than 30 days) is confusing me.

As you can see people are installing it and—surprisingly—almost nobody is uninstalling it. However, my active user count is basically flatlined at 1.

is my onboarding so bad that people forget they even installed it?

Would love some feedback on how you handle this. Thanks

I built a tool to solve the biggest frustration I had with bookmark managers.

Hi everyone!

I’m a developer and a student, and I built a tool called QuickKeep to fix a problem my friends and I were having: the endless "link spam" in our group chats.

Instead of just saving a URL and forgetting why you saved it, I built a way to capture the actual context of what you're looking at.

Here is the breakdown of how it works:

  • The Quick-Save: You can save any text(comment, blog, quote, line in your fav book...etc) just by double-clicking it. No more copying and pasting into a different tab.
  • Personal vs. Group Space: Your private saves and group folders are completely separate. You get your own "AI memory" for personal stuff
  • Live Group Sync: When you add to a group folder, it hits the collective dashboard instantly. No more "Hey, did you see that link I sent?"
  • Social Layer: You can leave reactions on what your friends save
  • AI Memory: It’s built to help you actually find what you saved later, rather than letting bookmarks go to die in a folder.

I’ve been using it with my own circle to share research and digital resources, and it’s completely changed our workflow. I thought the community here might find the "group sync" aspect useful for collaborative projects.

If you want to try it out (it's free): https://quickkeep.icu/

I’d love to hear your feedback, especially on how the sharing feels!

Thanks For Your Time
