MMX 330 PRO - Recommendations?

I'm quite new to the PC gaming scene and on top of that, very new to the audio side of things. Some friends of mine are rocking a setup with a Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO, a separate microphone, and an Amp. I really loved the sound and overall quality of Beyerdynamic, but I strongly prefer an all-in-one solution for my desk. This brought me to the MMX 330 PRO.

Now that I am on the verge of buying the headset, I stumbled across a lot of people complaining about the microphone quality. Others point towards getting a proper DAC or external soundcard to fix this.

For context, my motherboard is the ASRock B850M-X R2.0.

My questions are:

  • Is an external DAC/Amp really needed for my specific setup to make this studio-grade mic sound as good as it should?
  • If so, could someone give me some good, budget-friendly recommendations to make this headset work flawlessly?

Thanks in advance!
