Sunset Carnival

Just got this in the mail today and couldn’t resist doing the whole thing all at once . I just loved it ! And just sitting here now listening to the music and watching the Ferris wheel is such a treat ! The directions overall were great although I would have liked a contents list. I loved the little troubleshooting videos codes they included that you could scan if you were having trouble on a specific step . What a great idea ! I did have a bunch of trouble getting the mirror to stay in the little slots and eventually resorted to glue before it felt too much like the infamous wire shelf in Emily’s Flower Shop . I had a little bit of breakage - the flag on top of the circus tent, some flowers on the Ferris wheel, and some of the tiny wooden braces but it all worked out with some B-7000 glue. So overall a great evening building.

And I love being able to just plug it in . If this had been battery operated I wouldn’t have wanted to just sit here listening to it for so long as I wouldn’t want to use up the batteries right away. .

Rolife Event : wip electronics

Here’s my work in progress post for the Rolife event. Used a Daniel Builds YouTube video to be sure I had all the parts since there isn’t a list in the manual, and used RoLifes helpful electronic parts testing video to make sure everything works. (Be sure to turn on your volume to hear the music )So satisfying !!!!

Virtual Meetup?

Wondering if anyone knows of or would be interested in attending a virtual meetup to talk about our projects and maybe discuss some sort of irl BookNook conference ? I’m in the Northeast of the US but if we did virtual it wouldn’t matter where you were . I know most of us are introverts but it might be fun to share tips . We could have a set of topics like current project share; favorite tools; etc . Any interest out there ? If there isn’t one already I could set one up I think on Zoom or some other platform that works better for people although if someone else is more experienced at this that would be great too !

Dogs must be leashed in Washington Park

I know this comes up often but since someone just posted the “dogs are allowed to be unleashed “ in one area of the park urban myth I’m here to remind everyone now that Spring is here - don’t be a dick leash your dog . Every single dog bite or mauling victim is told by the owner this dog never did that before . And suggesting that an unfenced area makes a good area for unleashed dogs and keeps them from the rest of the park (c’mon really ?!?) is absurd. Leash your dog .

Cool Kowloon feature

Happily spending my Saturday working on Anavrin Kowloon Walled City 2049 and got here . I have seen so many builds of this one but never realized this cool feature ! And of course now wondering what else I can do with a Raster card ! Maybe stick one with whales (in comment since can’t do both video and photo as far as I can tell) inside Song of the Siren ?
