We Vietnamese call them "crocodile tears" (hypocrisy).

On October 26, 1972, Da Nang police blindfolded a woman accused of being a member of a Viet Cong terrorist unit. She was arrested while carrying 15 grenades strapped to her body after a clash with police forces the previous night.

If this woman commits this crime in 2026 in Vietnam, she will certainly be prosecuted in a communist regime court on the following two charges:

  1. Article 109, the crime of activities aimed at overthrowing the people's government, with a penalty of one year imprisonment to the death penalty.

  2. Article 113, the crime of terrorism against the people's government, with a penalty of one year imprisonment to the death penalty.
