Experience with Amazon “inclined” status and team matching process?

I recently completed the technical interview loop for Amazon DE Internship and received an “inclined” decision, which I’m really excited about. I think I’m now in the team matching phase, and my recruiter asked me to rank location preferences since my top choice (Seattle) might not be guaranteed.

I’m excited, but also a bit unsure about what this actually means in practice.

For anyone who’s gone through this before:

  1. How strong is an “inclined” decision?
  2. How long does the team matching process usually take?
  3. What happens if you don’t get matched to a team?
  4. Is there anything you can do at this stage to improve your chances of getting matched?

Also has anyone had any experience in moving a possible summer internship to an off-season fall semester internship?

Appreciate any insights. Thanks!
