LEGO Insects Set #21342 Framed

I am very happy with how the set turned out. When my LEGO wall is done I will hang them horizontally, so one can appreciate all the detail.

For now, I just want them up and hung and enjoying it vertically for awhile. Working on scientific name tags.

While I totally understand the purity of everything made with LEGO. For me ther is something really fun about mixing LEGO with traditional interior decorating elements. 🪻🌻🌺💐🌼🌹🌸🍄🪷🪲🦋

LEGO Florist Insect #3

Flying Beetle framed. The set is now completely framed and ready to be hung. I can’t believe how fun these turned out to be and how great they look. So often simplicity is the key.

Will post a pic of the set of 3 tomorrow. I hope LEGO does a lot more insects. I would love to have a wall full. 🌸🪻💐🌻🌺🪷🌹🌼🍄🦋🪲

LEGO Hibiscus 😍

Increasingly impressed with the newer Botanical sets. I was surprised by the how big this beauty is. It has to be at least 15 inches tall and the blooms are lovely.

If I had any criticism, it’s that I personally wish the flower petals weren’t quite as shiny.

Lovely and love it regardless. 💐🪻🌻🌼🌼🌺🪷🌹🦋🪲🍄

Praying Mantis, framed. I love all the insects so much, I can’t decide which is my favorite. Beetle is next and then the set will be framed.

Again, the mantis is unaltered and removable. Attached by 2 single row 6 notch bars-one which is glued to the base of the frame.

So, I am on a wee hiatus from making arrangements, as I am on a sorting spree. I now have a couple of loose “lots” of pieces that need to be cleaned and sorted.

I really appreciate whoever said to sort by the kind of pieces and not color. It’s so instinctual to want to sort by color but which piece you need is more important than the color, and especially when working on the interior structure of a build. Hopefully gearing up to do some MOC containers and blooms. 😊🌺🌸💐🌻🪻🪷🌼🌹🦋🪲🍄

I went to the LEGO exhibition right after the Botanical experience and I must say, I was BEYOND DISAPPOINTED. I thought and have heard botanicals are the fastest growing market for LEGO and we botanicals fans get NOTHING?

A couple of giant (kinda boring and old fashioned looking) wall pieces, in the “art” section.

They think all we do is put the bouquets together and put them in a vessel of some sort. Ummmm excuse me wouldn’t that be exactly like that WHOLE section that is “classic builds”?

All the vendors had little to nothing. The weekend before Mother’s Day, even.

I kinda feel like the Botanical group (in general) is more of a certain gender and maybe even a bit of a certain age range and we get dismissed as true or real fans.

I know it’s a new line and a new group of AFOLs and so we need to fix this! Let’s show them how creative we can be and we need representation everywhere LEGO is!

Anyone agree? What do we do next? 🌸🌹🌺🌼💐🪷🌻🪻🦋🍄🪲

Free event hosted by LEGO. Here is the video of the swag bag from the event (minus the delicious free gourmet espresso drink) It was a cool event and I am happy I went.

It was completely free and really sweet with all the moms. (I went by myself as my mom does not live in the same city and LEGO is not something she would understand.)😆 They had 3 different themed swag bags and you got one as you entered.

I was hoping maybe they would have some stuff for sale…but alas, all we masses have to wait until 6/1.

My only other disappointment (because I am a brat) I was disappointed at the use of so many just plain old fake flowers as fillers in all their decor. It was still lovely and I am appreciative.

I ❤️ LEGO!

🥳🥳🥳😍 I placed my preorder, last night!!! Can’t wait until June 1st!!! Thankfully, I only want one of these for building and display.

Don’t think (?) I will want to do arrangements with mushrooms…or will I? 🤔

Regardless, I am like a kid waiting for my birthday to arrive! 🥹🥳😅🪻💐🌸🌼🌹🌺🌻🪷🦋🪲

Really happy with the finished piece. The best part, I only had to glue a single rod with 2 notches attached to the frame, itself. The butterfly is detachable and unmodified.

This one is a graduation gift for a friend! I still have a full set to build for myself. 🦋🪲🌸💐🌻🪻🌹🌺🌼🪷

Does anyone else see it? The potential for a modern art wall piece? I’ve been staring at the bases of the succulent set (I removed all the plants to add to my arrangements) and never been a huge fan and then started arranging them and attaching them.

I have another set to put together to expand this. Haven’t decided if I am going to leave the interiors as they are or change them up-maybe just the colors….🌺🌻💐🌼🌹🪻🌸🪷🍄🪲🦋

I purchased a pre-owned insect set and sadly it was missing pieces. Unfortunately, I missed the return window and was momentarily disappointed.

Then I walked past a curio store and saw a set of real insects mounted in a shadow box and 💡💡💡🤩

I’m already loving it and I haven’t really even started yet. 😍

With LEGO, it’s always hard to tell if waiting will make a set more expensive or less expensive.

I love this set but just wasn’t willing to pay the cRAZy prices people had them listed at.

Finally my patience paid off and I got this set sealed for a slightly less crazy price. Woohoo!! 🥳

My first full MOC arrangement, that includes the vase.

I realized having limits because of shape and size makes it easier and more challenging to arrange a bouquet. Something to be said about limited choices.

I think I’m sending a different kind of bouquet to mom for Mother’s Day this year. (Although, I will have to 😳 glue it together before I send it)

Apparently, there are some instructions on Rebrickable for a vase using these parts and was part of an original LEGO promotional “Peach Blossom” set available briefly in 2020 in Singapore and Taiwan (never been to either) and definitely was not traveling in 2020 😳.

I only found out that set and instructions existed, AFTER I posted a sneak peek at my version of the vase. (I would never want to take credit for another artists’ work.) I mean obviously I didn’t think I was the only one who saw the shape and knew it was a perfect vase shape, I just hadn’t seen anyone else do it yet.

I had requests on how I assembled the vase because apparently the original “peach blossom” design is very unstable.

I hope this helps. 💐🌼🌺🌸🪻🌹🌻🪷🍄

BTW: I saw on Pick a Brick, they only have this piece in black, now. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My first attempt at making LEGO vases. Proportions are the main issue here as they are quite small compared to the size of most of my blooms. As always, it’s all about the challenge and having fun! 🤩🌸🌺🪻🌹🪷🌻🌼💐🍄

The curves of the branches on the magnolia set, really made this far more challenging than I anticipated. This is my first 360d arrangement. Unfortunately, Reddit won’t let you post videos and pics on the same post. I ❤️ LEGO botanicals! 🌺💐🌻🌼🌸🪻🌹🍄🪷

From the complicated explosion that was #13 to the epitome of simplicity that is #14.

I love these bases from, what someone referred to as the 4 gentleman (I personally think they should be referred to as the 4 gentle ladies) The mini orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum and plum blossom. 🌷💐🌺🪻🌻🌸🌼🌹
