DONT BUY FROM COSCRAFTERS/SHRIMP7STORE!
I’m making this post so others don’t fall for the same trick I did.
I was looking for a Noelle plushie recently, and found the Noelle plushie shown in the second image being sold by “Shrimp7Store” on Etsy. I was immediately enamoured, and bought it despite being a bit off put by some images and videos of it that I thought might be AI.
I waited to receive it, very excited, for a month or two, until the (wonderful) u/Effective_Plantain81, a Noelle plushie expert, told me that it was a scam.
She had experience with this seller, having bought a Kris plush from them before. As it turned out, they used ai in the images, and sent a bootleg version of the plushies to their buyers, instead of the real plush. They would buy these bootleg plushies from mass producers like sweatshops, then sell it with an extreme mark up, also putting it on sale after only a day or two to make them look cheaper and more limited time. In other words, they were scamming me.
I was heartbroken, but thanked her, and decided to just wait until the bootleg plushie arrived, since a Noelle plushie is a Noelle plushie. Later, however, another friend of mine told me that they had found the original creator of the Noelle plushie that had been shown in the listing. I checked it out, and sure enough, I found the real creator, Bouncy Mouse. They told me they knew about the scammer and were really sorry about everything that had happened.
I was happy to have found the real creator, and waited to buy the plush once it became available.
Recently, however, I got an email from the scammer. Apparently, they had lost their Etsy store, and now were operating on their own website, http://coscrafters.com/.
So I’m making this post to warn everyone, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PERSON! They are a scammer! And always be careful about buying stuff online, it’s super easy to get scammed if you aren’t cautious.
