2nd opinion 2007 ESV 6.2L 200k miles

I went to my mechanic for a 2nd opinion and my trusted mechanic stated he found another issues that the dealer didn’t lol. Which is the engine mount is bad. He quoted me about $3500 to fix both engine mounts and lower control arms and oil leak.

How did I do? 2007 ESV

Got it for $5,000. In the New Jersey area. It definitely needs some maintenance and probably a $400 interior detail. There’s a clunk when braking and then accelerating, so it likely has some driveline or transmission mount play. It also has a small oil leak, probably from the oil cooler lines. The heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, and driver-side auto-folding seat have issues. I also noticed the heated wiper button is very sticky and doesn’t turn on. My main focus, though, is fixing the mechanical problems first before worrying about the older GM luxury features. But pretty much almost all the service records are all from the Cadillac dealership. It’s at 200k miles.

Cadillac esv 2007 good deal?

I know I’ve been posting a lot of different GMTs, but this one really caught my attention. At this point, I’m seriously considering it because it’s basically a luxury Suburban. He stated…

“Nice and clean big truck
Fully loaded
Zero issues
Good engine and transmission
Good tires
Inspection good till 2027
Private sale with clean title on hand

No trades “

I decided to pass because it was running very lean and had codes P0106 and P0117. Like I mentioned, the transmission had been replaced, and he had the service records for it. I also noticed that the gear shifter was very stiff when shifting through all the gears, and the park selector either didn’t illuminate or only worked intermittently. It also stalled when I changed gears a bit too fast. He did ask me what a good offer would be, and said he would have it towed to me.

He wanted to have it towed to me but I don’t want to deal with a ton of repairs.

I’m going to check it out tomorrow, and he said he has the title in hand. I already know to look for frame rust, AFM issues, and maintenance records. What other things should I inspect before buying it?
