#182 - Odes, Dead planet, Ebedeagurst galaxy

Today we find ourselves on Odes, a dead planet at the core of Ebedeagurst, the 182nd galaxy. Dead is the 9th and final type of planet in the dead biome, and as such, it features no atmosphere, low gravity, and no planetary fauna.

I spent so much time the past few days building and decorating bases, so I decided to do something simple here.... 6 hours later, I had somehow accidentally built a hover base and unintentional art installation.

The system features a Trade type living frigate and yet another in our long series of C-quality freighter tech upgrades. With 182 derelict freighters behind us, we are at ~6.5% on S-quality upgrades.

I included a Triple S frost critter from the neighboring hiemal planet and an SAS robotic from a random planet in this galaxy(Ebedeagurst).

Exotics and the Xeno Arena

I am slowly going back through my previously visited systems, looking for SSS pets and battling the system contenders and champions to level up. I am having a blast with it.

One thing I have noticed is the sheer number of exotics I am encountering in my brief visits to trading posts and colossal planetary archives. I am not sure if the spawn rates have gone up since this last patch, or if I am just getting lucky, but I am seeing them WAY more frequently than every before.

Here are a few from just the past week or two.

#181 - Deuce IV, Unstable planet, Yekathsebehn galaxy

Today we find ourselves on Deuce IV, an unstable planet at the core of Yekathsebehn, the 181st galaxy. Unstable marks 11 of the 14 Volcanic planet types visited so far. For a relatively brutal planet, Deuce IV is actually quite beautiful with vast seas and green hills dotted with both volcanoes and lovely little fish-filled lakes.

The base is a luxury fish camp. I spent almost 6 hours on this one. It needs a bit more work, but I'm still proud of how it turned out.

There are only 3 species of tameable fauna here, all Fire, none are SSS.

The system has an abandoned space station, a C-class freighter tech upgrade from the derelict freighter, an Industrial type living frigate, and a crashed sentinel ship.

#180 - Teadlin Alpha, Bubbling planet, Sthatigudi galaxy

Today we find ourselves on Teadlin Alpha, a bubbling planet at the core of Sthatigudi, the 180th galaxy. Bubbling is the second of three members of the "Bubble" exotic sub-biome. We previously visited a Foaming planet in galaxy 143, and we'll complete the set with Frothing in a couple of weeks when we reach galaxy 195. Like most of the exotics we have visited, Teadlin Alpha has a single species of fauna, and not a lot else. You can pick up some Bubble Clusters to decorate your base and shoot a few corrupted sentinels and that's about it.

I didn't have a ton of time for base building today, so I put up a big, boxy unfurnished 12-unit condo with roof parking.

The system features a C-class freighter tech upgrade from the derelict freighter and an Industrial type living frigate.

#179 - Ookehama Omega, Giant Frozen Anomaly, Wepaitvas galaxy

Today we find ourselves on Ookehama Omega, a giant frozen anomaly at the core of Wepaitvas, the 179th galaxy. The topography here is insane, and there is a lot of it. The surface is riddled with huge burrows that leave wonderful outcrops and so many caves and secret places I just wanted to "go over there and stand". It is a giant planet, classed as frozen anomaly, but nothing is frozen, and the storms here are 322°F walls of flame with the occasional fire tornado. This is the 17th Mega Exotic biome we have visited; Only two more to go. I loved this one so much I actually furnished the base here with more than a landing pad and teleporter.

14 species of fauna call Ookehama Omega their home, 9 of which are tameable. The tiniest critter I have seen can be found here. All of the fauna are anomalous, except for one.

The system is another undiscovered / abandoned system, so no monoliths, space station, atlantid weapons, inhabited structures, crashed sentinel ships, etc. There is a C-class freighter tech upgrade from the derelict freighter and a Combat living frigate.

#178 - Ouporio XVIII, overgrown planet, Igbinduina galaxy

Today we find ourselves on Ouporio XVIII, an overgrown planet at the core of Igbinduina, the 178th galaxy. Occasionally, I remember to read the additional observations in the catalogue, and there are so many that make me chuckle. For example, there is a fish here that "makes art with sticks" and another that "changes gender when cold". Nature truly is amazing.

Overgrown is the 15th and final type of Lush planet we have visited. With no more Lush planet types to find, we're going to be spending our time on less hospitable planets for the foreseeable future.

There are 13 species of fauna here, 8 of which are tameable.

The system features a Support type living frigate and an A-class freighter tech upgrade from the derelict freighter.

Morning greets us on Rugened F36, a Reeking planet at the core of Hapirajua, the 177th galaxy. Reeking is the 10th of the 13 Marsh planet types we have visited. As the name might imply, it is always either raining or about to rain.

The planet is home to 5 tameable species of fauna, all with poor to mediocre stats. For the base, I went with a simple big box with a roof landing pad. It is an empty shell at the moment, since I used my entire supply of creativity and patience on yesterday's citadel.

The system features a Combat living frigate and a C-class freighter tech upgrade from the derelict freighter

Today we find ourselves on Hamarazu, a Hexagonal planet at the core of Wongquarum, the 176th galaxy. Hexagonal is the third and final type in the Hexagon group of the Exotic biome, along with Plated and Scaly. You can collect hexplate bushes to decorate your base here.

After 32 glass cuboid extraction sites in a row, I really needed to flex and build a decent base. I really leaned into the planet's hex aesthetic, and built myself a citadel. I am proud of what I got done in about 6 hours.

The moon itself is very small, and features a single untameable species of Hexalete fauna. I have noticed since the Xeno Arena update, these fauna are not rendering properly.

The system is another abandoned or undiscovered system. This means no space station, monoliths, atlantid weapons, crashed sentinel ships, etc. The only things you can find are a B-class freighter tech upgrade from the derelict freighter and an Exploration type living frigate.

Normally to find the planetary portal, I use an exocraft to find a monolith, and then use the monolith to find the portal. In abandoned or uncharted systems, I take a screenshot on the planet's surface to note the glyphs, then fly to a neighboring inhabited system and teleport back to the original planet. The neighboring system I warped to this time contained a desert planet that was mostly water with a glitched portal. I include the coordinates of this oddity in the post as well.

All of this only to discover that this moon doesn't even have a planetary portal. If you use the portal coordinates, you will just spawn at a clearing. This is where I decided to build my citadel.

Today we find ourselves on Keporth Tau, an Isotopic planet at the core of Mufimbomacvi, the 175th galaxy. It's been a week since our last stop, as I got caught up in doing the Xeno Arena battles, making progress with the Arena League faction, and learning about the Egg Sequencer. But today, we are back on the journey.

The base is the final glass cuboid extraction / collection setup on this save. This time we are harvesting Activated Cadmium at the usual rate of 16K / 12hrs.

The planet features 4 tameable species of fauna, none of which have particularly spectacular battle stats.

The system features a Support type living frigate and a C-class freighter tech upgrade from the derelict freighter. It is another uncharted / abandoned system, so no monoliths, space station, atlantid weapons, or crashed sentinel ships.

They can't all be bangers.

Today we find ourselves on Minusc G10, a Toxic Anomaly at the core of Emarmatosi, the 174th galaxy. This is the 16th planet we have encountered from the Mega Exotic biome

The base is another collection / extraction setup. Activated Emeril is harvested at the usual rate of 16K twice daily. Every new save starts with 32 of these, one for each harvestable gas or mineral. Tomorrow we will plant the final one for this save, and the 96th overall.

There are 6 tameable anomalous fauna here, none of which really stand out for Xeno Arena battles. The meanest predator is actually the weakest in pet battles.

The system features a Combat type living frigate, and an A-class freighter tech upgrade from the derelict freighter.

Today we find ourselves on Eahaelishe Nohas, a molten planet at the core of Litzmantufa, the 173rd galaxy.

I managed to unintentionally plant flags in three abandoned systems in a row. No monoliths, space station, crashed sentinel ship, atlantid weapon, and no Xeno Arena challengers or champion.

I built another extraction / collection base, this time for Basalt, with the usual extraction rate of 16K/12 hrs. The planet features a decent A-S-S mechanical companion, and not much else. I had to go to an adjacent system to test him out, and I may have committed a minor accidental hate crime. More on that later.

The system features an Exploration type living frigate and a C-class freighter tech upgrade from the derelict freighter.

Today we find ourselves on Mazu 88/K2, an Ossified moon of the Violent planet Daisingto Kuwan, at the core of Ewheelonc, the 172nd galaxy.

Ossified is the third and final type in the M-structure sub-biome, which is part of the greater Exotic biome. We previously visited Calcified in galaxy 57 and Petrified in galaxy 169.

Like most of the exotics, Mazu 88/K2 features a single fauna, no surface water, and no atmosphere or storms to speak of.

This was the second abandoned system in a row, so no space station, monoliths, atlantid multi-tools, crashed sentinel ships, or Xeno-arena competitors.

However, there is an S-class freighter tech upgrade, which brings us to 12 for172, a rate of just under 7%.

Today we find ourselves on Caktone V, a world of Endless Seas at the core of Wiensanshe, the 171st galaxy. The storms here are wild. A small tornado ripped me right out of my base and flung me over 300u into the distance.

The base is another resource collection site, this time for Methane. There are 5 fauna here, all underwater, with an anomalous BCS tameable helmit crab.

The system is abandoned, so no space station, monoliths, or xeno arena battles. There is a C-class freighter tech upgrade from the derelict freighter and an incredibly low stat living frigate.

Today we find ourselves on Achu Sigma, a Nuclear planet at the core of Ezdaranit, the 170th galaxy. This is the 12th of 15 Irradiated planet types we have visited so far.

This planet surprised me. There are at least 4 colossal archives and 3 crashed freighters. Two of the colossal archives are built almost on top of each other. I only spent about an hour here, so finding that much in such a short time leads me to believe there are probably many more.

The planet features only 5 species of fauna: 3 flying, and 2 underground creatures (one CBA, the other BAC).

The system is outlaw, the living frigate is a Trade type, and the derelict freighter rewards another C-class freighter tech upgrade.

I had to win 6 pet battles before I got the champion invitation. The system champion was a good challenge that took me a few attempts to beat, but that may just be my bad luck with fauna quality so far. I refuse to tame a creature that I didn't personally discover, which is a sort of self-imposed hard mode.

Today we find ourselves on Peshetfo II, a Petrified moon at the core of Hilfsesorbs, the 169th galaxy. Petrified (along with Calcified and Ossified) is part of the M-Structure sub-biome, which falls under the exotic biome type. The main draw of these planets is the ability to gather Ossified Stars for display at your bases.

Like most of the exotic planets and moons we have visited, Peshetfo II is pretty boring. The single fauna on the planet is an ACB living mollusc, and there is another black atlantid rifle at the monolith.

The system features a Trade type living frigate and another C class freighter tech upgrade.

Today we find ourselves on Tiventa VII, a Gas Giant at the core of Twoodmand, the 168th galaxy.

As with all of the Gas Giants I have encountered, there is no fauna to catalogue. I dropped a Crystallized Helium extraction site and quickly moved on. The previous Gas Giant, Sawbri, was a much more interesting Gas Giant that featured surface water and some cool underwater caves.

The system features a crashed sentinel ship, an Exploration type living frigate and a B class freighter tech upgrade.

Today we find ourselves on Damam 73/R4, a waterworld at the core of Impoxectin, the 167th galaxy.

It finally happened. Up to this point all of the aquatic planets I have found have featured at least one little spit of land to build a base on. Damam 73/R4 is the first one I have found without any landmasses whatsoever.

The base is another extraction / collection setup, this time for Lithium. It is built just under 2,000 u deep. There are 9 species of fauna, 4 of them are flying, and are absolutely nowhere to be found. I have noticed since the latest patch that a lot of flying creatures disappeared from my planets. Disappeared entirely - not on the planet at all, and in some cases, they have become "undiscovered" in my catalogue. I have proof they existed in my posts here, but now they are just gone.

It's frustrating to catalogue all these planets just to have an extremely undercooked patch ruin a ton of work.
