Hello dear Redditors,
For those who may not be familiar with the term, enshittification is an informal way to describe the gradual decline in quality and user experience on online platforms—often caused by increasing ads, rising costs, or unnecessary features. More broadly, it can also refer to general deterioration in areas like technology, business, or even society.
We’ve recently created a new community: r/StopEnshittification
👉 https://www.reddit.com/r/StopEnshittification/
Our goal is to highlight platforms and brands that are still genuinely good to their users, and to help people find better alternatives when things go downhill. For example, if you’re fed up with a service like Adobe, you can ask for or suggest alternatives. You can also raise concerns, share experiences, or point out issues you think are important.
Thanks for checking it out—whether you join, ask a question, or share a suggestion!
Maybe I’m the dumb one here, but hear me out: systems like this should be more understandable and visually clearer for users.
I assumed that if we boosted a server 5 times on Discord, we’d reach level 2. But no—recently they added a “feature” where you have to spend boosts on different perks, so you can’t actually reach level 2 with boosts the way it’s shown in the screenshot.
At least for me, the system feels misleading and, honestly, annoying. They should stop this kind of enshittification—it just overcomplicates things, and you can’t even see clearly how it works anymore. And on top of that, all these “useful” features just make Discord lag even more. :)
