Holdstock wrote some wonderful stuff in the 80s and 90s that had a very English feel in terms of myth and rural / woodland setting. Lavondyss is probably his best work.

Real goldilocks writer who did many things just right - great prose stylist without being self-consciously / heavy literary, lively plots with some serious emotional depth, and tremendous sense of place with a love for the forest and attendant myth-making.

For 2NT major suit raises in competition (1M X 2NT or 1M 2m 2NT if you also play that), do you like to play something adapted from what you play for Jacoby 2N in an uncontested auction? Or do you keep it natural?
