Odd behavior changing profiles with Green Charging enabled.
I am in SoCal on NEM 3.0. 10kw of panels with 20kwh of 5P batteries. This has happened to me twice, and I think it's odd.
For the most part, I leave my system in "self consumption" mode with "Green Charging" enabled for my EV. Sometimes, I or my wife drive the EV to work, and it is gone during the day and I miss out on excess solar. Twice now, I have needed to add 10-20 miles to the range for the following day. Since I don't want to charge from my batteries, I do the following. At 9pm (end of peak TOU billing) I switch the house to "full backup" because the batteries are set to NOT charge from the grid, my house consumption goes to the grid and the batteries are idle. I then manually start the EV charging. Once the EV gets the range I need, I manually STOP charging. Once confirmed that the car has stopped, I then flip the profile back to "self consumption" to use my batteries overnight.
BOTH times I have done this.... the car immediately starts charging from my batteries.
Is this a bug? Undocumented "feature"?? Or did the programmers do this intentionally? I feel like a profile change "to" self consumption should NOT start charging.
Maybe it makes sense switching TO "full backup" to top up the EV, but certainly NOT switching back to "self".
