New to Royal Road: releasing a Victorian London thriller-horror with a connected universe and looking for honest feedback
I’m new to Royal Road and honestly just trying to find genuine readers who love dark mystery, thriller, and horror worlds.
Today the third chapter/story of my book The Unrecorded: It’s Just London goes live, and I wanted to share what this project really means to me.
This isn’t just one story. It’s 10 fictional Victorian-era London stories set in the East End, full of dark mystery, Cockney voices, unsettling atmosphere, and a deeper connection that slowly reveals itself into something bigger. What starts as separate stories begins to open into a much larger universe.
I wrote this specifically for Royal Road because I genuinely believe this is the kind of place where real readers can discover something early and help shape its journey.
I’m already planning the wider Unrecorded universe, with future books moving into different places around the world while staying connected to the same dark thread. London is only the beginning.
I’m also one of those writers who always sees the visual side of what I create. Every book I write, I write with the hope that one day it could become a series or film, because I also come from a scriptwriting and visual storytelling background.
I’m saying all of this humbly because I’m new to this space, and I’d really appreciate honest feedback from avid readers. The response so far has been encouraging, and the biggest thing people keep saying is they want more, which means a lot.
I’ve even started making merch for the book because I believe in the world that much.
If Victorian London horror, mystery, and connected story universes are your thing, I’d genuinely love for you to give it a read and tell me what you think.
This is the beginning of something I hope grows into a real community.
