If you’re planning a tennis trip in Europe, don’t overlook Sweden 🇸🇪

Some of the most memorable courts we visited were far from the usual tennis destinations. This one is hidden along the Bohuslän coastline in Klädesholmen.

Klädesholmen, Sweden🇸🇪

Didn’t expect one of our favourite tennis stops in Europe to be a small coastal town in Sweden. Bohuslän isn’t really on the radar for most tennis travellers, but during summer the combination of sea, granite cliffs and these courts feels surprisingly special.

Korcula, Croatia🇭🇷

The old town is magical. And we were also lucky to play at this unique court above the bay with crystal clear waters. Can highly recommend the experience of going there.

An unbelievable tennis complex set inside Vienna’s historic Arsenal fortress, originally built between 1848 and 1856 as part of the city’s defences. Massive red brick walls surround 21 clay courts laid out in perfect symmetry, creating one of the most unusual tennis settings we have come across in Europe.

Open for guest play.

An unbelievable tennis complex.

One of Europe’s most extraordinary places to play tennis in Vienna. Open for guest play.

Honestly did not expect to find a tennis setting like this in the middle of Vienna.

Set within the historic Arsenal complex, built between 1848 and 1856 as part of the city’s defences, the courts are framed by massive red brick walls that once enclosed armouries and barracks. Today, the fortress-like structure has been transformed into one of Vienna’s largest and most active tennis facilities, with 21 clay courts laid out in remarkable symmetry along the vast complex.

Played on this stunning court at Lake Como.
Arrived the night before and was also lucky to catch the hotel in a calm evening setting.
