Better Mic for the Roland JD-Xi? Gooseneck broke. I have SM58 but it does not work....

Hey JD-Xi guy here. So I'm wanting to do more vocal things with the JD-Xi's. I plugged in the gooseneck mic and found that it is broken 😞 I know its not the unit because I tried it on both, definitely the mic, and even though I have 2 Xi's I only had 1 mic.

I've done a little research already and found some decent options but they are slightly too expensive for me at the moment. I don't really wanna drop a large sum on a mic right now when I don't do much vocal work to start with, and already have a Shure SM58.

Can anyone recommend an affordable ($150 or less) alternative to the gooseneck that comes with this thing? I tried using the Shure but it needs to be powered or something (it works on my mixer but the the Xi)

Did more research before finishing this post:

..and before I get jumped in here, No the Shure SM58 DOES NOT work on either of my units. Tried an XLR to 1/4 into the back, tried the port on the face of the synth, messed with settings, all of it. On both synths. I see online that people are saying it works.... it does not.

I guess if anyone has suggestions on how I can get the SM58 to work, that would be nice, and would save me some money.
