Packaging Concept for Mannequin Heads

Had to create some mannequin head boxes for work and would love any feedback. I don't feel 100% confident with this design (the spacing of a lot of stuff doesn't feel right to me... :c ) so any critiques are appreciated.

I would have ideally had a window for the actually head to be seen, but had no wiggle room on the box that is being used, so no window.

I posted a version the other day and someone asked what "reveal our infinite dignity means" and all I can really say is it is one of the company's slogans and they like to use it when possible. It something to do with the barbers/stylists providing more than a fresh look to a customer, but giving them back some dignity (or something like that, idk, I didn't make the slogan and tbh I don't really like it at all).

The requests for the box design were:

- Name of mannequin head on top of box (some stores stack the boxes so that only the top of the box is visible, so it needed to be clear about the color/name of the mannequin)
- Color on each box to match hair color
- Image of each head on box
- "Simple", minimal, typographic focused (last image is a box reference I was given)
- Include an illustrated graphic of a mannequin head side profile on front of box

Mannequin Head Packaging Feedback

Hello!

I posted yesterday about wanting some feedback on a mannequin head box I'm designing for work. I've created a new version in order to attempt a look that closer mimics the design of the black and white box reference image my boss provided. I was struggling to translate this design to my box because I wasn't sure how to have the wraparound text work on a box that would be displayed box-to-box on a shelf without the full text visible 100% of the time.

The requests I was given were:

- Name of mannequin head on top of box
- Color on each box to match hair color (this is only an example of the auburn hair for now)
- Image of each head on box
- "Simple", minimal, typographic focused
- Maybe include an illustrated graphic of a side profile on front of box?

Any feedback is appreciated!

Packaging Feedback

Hello all. I'm nearing the end of my rope with this current project.

For context, I work for a company that makes professional hair tools (dryers, shears, clippers, etc.) My most recent assignment was to create new packaging for our mannequin heads. We have 4 heads with different names and hair colors. I've been asked to create individual packaging for each head.

My issue is that I haven't been getting very good feedback from my creative director about what she's looking for. (For context, it's a family business and she does not have ANY professional design experience aside from what she's figured out on her own through the job. She does have an art background... but it doesn't help much tbh). I've created a lot of different ideas for this box, and the feedback I receive back from her is to make it "simpler" and "cool" and other such unhelpful, vague responses.

She did provide me with a few reference images of different packaging she likes, which I appreciated. My problem was that her references are heavy on using typography as the main design element, but she requested a graphic of the mannequin head to be on the front of the box. Additionally, I'm not sure if this is normal for other graphic designers, but are y'all the ones figuring out what copy goes on the box? I feel like a lot of the text on the box is up to me to figure out, make sound and look good, and they also want these boxes made within like 24 hours, so it just feels a bit impossible.

I'm still relatively new to the field, and with my boss not having a firm grasp on design (she doesn't use grids and I had to explain to her what hex codes are as well as the difference between CMYK and RGB), it really feels like the blind leading the blind sometimes.

Additionally, in these designs I edited the mannequin heads with a grain and threshold effect, but I'm not 100% happy with the results. The blonde hair has such a wider range of value and looks much clearer than the darker hir colors. I tried adjusting the curves/levels to get a better result with the dark haired heads, but this is the best I could do. Any advice would be appreciated.

TL;DR - I've attached my designs along with the reference image my boss provided. Any feedback would be appreciated. First 4 photos are the most recent boxes I've made, followed by 3 reference photos provided by my boss, and the last few images are unfinished ideas of boxes that my boss liked, but for feedback on the design was "simpler" and not much else. She did give feedback as far as what info to include on the box, and those requests are listed below.

Requested aspects of box:
- Name of mannequin head on top of box

- Color on each box to match hair color

- Image of each head on box

- "Simple", minimal, typographic focused

- Maybe include an illustrated graphic of a side profile on front of box?
