I cleaned out my garage this past weekend and am now attempting to get rid of small car full of broken plastic tubs, shelves, that sort of thing. My garbage/recycle company (Evergreen Disposal) says I can't put it in the recycle bin, and will only take it in the trash if it's broken down enough to fit in a trash bag.
Meanwhile, I tried the dump and they wanted to charge me ***$80*** to get rid of a small car trunk of plastic. That's obscene. Other places I've lived, that would have cost me $20-$30. Does the city want people to illegally dump? I'm trying to find an alternative, and won't be illegally dumping, but at these rates, I can at least understand why people do!
