Want To Know Dort’s Value
Watching Brandon Ingram in the first half go off against the Cavs today gives me another chance to remind the world what Lu Dort did to him in the first round of the 2024 Playoffs. Ingram was hitting fade aways, runners, step backs, and looked like he was All NBA. My son and I watched BI lose the will to play basketball in the final game where he was 2-14. At one point he got stopped on a drive, kicked it out, put his head down, and didn’t even look at the result of the play. You could see the doubt in himself all over his face. And just like now, Dort’s teammates were feeding off this energy. Those are the things Lu does for us that aren’t remembered, but show up in wins. I completely understand the fans who are skeptical of Lu because of his shooting, but this man is hugely responsible for the swarming, tough as Hell attacking defensive mentality that helped us win a championship and we will need him to keep being that guy to win another.
