2026 CT5V BW - Do I Have an Issue with my 6MT?

2026 CT5V BW - Do I Have an Issue with my 6MT?

I bought my 2026 CT5V BW 6MT - with 5 miles on it off the showroom floor. I’ve driven it about 250 relatively calm miles.

I am trying to decide if my shifts “feel right”. The shifts are not smooth (I’ve heard some describe this MT as silky) - but they are consistent - each gear “feels” about the same which is to say kind of like snapping a well worn Tupperware lid into place each time - or if you have a KitchenAid mixer that has the bowl that raises and lowers, it feels like snapping the bowl into the up position with the lever. So let’s say I’m going from 1st to 2nd, clutch in, pull out of 1st feels like a slight snap (not the sound, the feel), then a snap going into 2nd. If from N to 2nd - it’s just the one snap. It feels the same cold, warm, slow rpm, fast rpm and across all gears.

I’ve not driven a manual in over 2 decades so I don’t really remember how the shifts “felt”. I driven various manuals (a Honda Accord, a Challenger, a few trucks, a Maxima, etc.) during my time driving a manual. Yes, my clutch/gas/shifts were a little clunky at first - but it’s like riding a bike - so that’s not the issue.

So - is this the normal feel for this MT, or will it smooth out, or should I have the dealer look at it?

I’d like to hear how your MT’s “feel”. Thanks.

23 Ct4BW to 26 CT5BW

Three years ago, I bought what I thought was my dream car. I had so much fun with my CT4 BW AT, but I never quite got over not having a 6MT or the bigger car.

After two years and the realization that my chances were limited, I finally pulled the trigger on what I really wanted. Dammit it’s a lot of money but so far I haven’t regretted it for a moment.

This thing is like a caged bear. There is the thinnest line (bar) between you and absolute carnage. It’s amazing. The lines are so sexy, the power is unmatched and the MT keeps you awake and alive.
